To get better at English

I think that the program for the English classes that get applied to the university is very strong and helps the students to get into a level of knowledge certified to understand and speak a basic level of english. The experience of learning English at the university was very satisfying because I used to read a lot of texts in English, and it helps me to understand a lot of books, articles and most of all, the way that English speakers speak and communicate with others. I think that the blogs helped me a lot to learn about the reading and the writing abilities, a very important aspect to the different challenges that will appear in the future. I aspire to grow as a professional and as a person, open my mind to use new terms and words that in spanish don't exist. This kind of knowledge helps a lot for the career itself, so I would travel to an English speaking country to get a degree, it wouldn’t be so difficult to apply my work to that kind of learning. I usually watch movies and series without subtitles to spanish, so I can amply my limits of words, also I watch a lot of channels of youtube that used terms and words of comics, movies, and art, so I’m familiar with the way that many people used their language to express their ideas and concepts. I also do an exercise since I was a young high school adolescent, I used to search the lyrics of the songs I love the most, and translated to the spanish with the words I know, and the ones that didn’t, I search and write them down, so the next time I know them at the time I listen the word in another song.    

 

CHANGES

The changes that I would imply in my study programme are less than a few, in terms of infrastructure, curriculum and the use of better and immersive technology. To begin with this plan, the first thing, and the most necessary one is building a new building for the Arts Theory Departament. It is unacceptable that our classrooms are practically in a basement, and the infrastructure lies beneath the very building of the Arts Department, leaving all the norms and protocols of security behind. When it rains in the winter, the classrooms flood all over the place, and the calefaction system it is based on gas, are old and faulty. So the rebuild of the building itself, or a new one would be perfect for the safety of the students. This restructure will help to the implementation of the new technologies to classrooms, intelligent boards, and projectors. The projections would help to get the most important aspect of the teachings that every teacher would like to show. In terms of the curriculum to the classes, I would imply a new method for the arts history teachings, oriental, indian and african art would have a topic on the teachings, because this learning is getting lost and doesn’t get the depth to their importance. These changes would impact on a new way to expand the knowledge for the students, and the projections to the faculty itself. 

 

 The Future

If time travel could be possible, and I had to choose one year to go into the future, I would pick the year 3021. I would like to know what happened to my club Colo Colo, what has been of our national team, what happened to Chile as a nation and as a republic, to know what kind of music is famous and what’s the importance of the music of this generation and my older’s before me. I would be interested to know about my family’s achievements, but without getting to know about what happened with me, I’m scared about the future and what is expected me, so I would like to still have control over what I’m going to be as a person, a professional and whatever the future holds for me. I would enjoy every single movie that has been made to that time, or whatever the format that humanity posses to tell the stories that made us, I would be interested to know about what’s the new device for entertainment, like playstation, xbox or nintendo, I would be excited to see the development of immersion and the new possibilities about the new technologies. But, the things that I would most be interested in would be the circumstances about the political, social and cultural history, and of course, art’s history of the world and my country.

 The Last of Us 2, Game of the year of 2020

One of the most commented video games of 2020, has been The Last of Us 2, successor of the highly acclaimed The Last of Us from 2013, the expectations for the sequel was high and the fans expected to receive a game that fulfilled their own expectations, and once the game was released, the critics didn’t wait to drop, and it has been a very diverse debate. One of the most heard critics to the game’s story, are focused on (spoiler alert for the ones that haven’t finished the game yet) the twist of the first act, the death of the first game’s main character, Joel. This character saves our protagonist for this second game, Ellie, a child in the first game, who now it’s an adult trying to live in a post apocalyptic world, where most of the population died because of a global pandemic, which she’s inmune. This secret drives her life and her relationships to hide for everyone her condition, because the last time that someone knew about her immunity, something very bad happened, and the consequences ended up killing Joel. So, the weight of the story lays on Ellie’s search for revenge, on the ones that killed the only person that she considered a father. I really think that the story is a diverse and new way to lead the principal theme of the first game and make us love a character that captivates our hearts like Ellie and her girlfriend Dina, the new generation console like ps4 make this new game had a completely new experience, visual and audio, make this game win a lot of awards, included the game of the year.

 LASAGNA 

One of the many things I really enjoy it’s cooking for me, my family and girlfriend. So my favorite meal to cook is Lasagna, because of the steps and because of the many things I can add to it. The first step, it’s to prepare the ingredients for the sauce and the meat, and I really like to mix two types of sauce, a white with mushrooms and chicken, and a tomato sauce with meat, onion, carrot and vegetables. Between the capes of lasagna, I used to use potato and eggplant slices, so the capes would be: one cape of tomato sauce, one cape of lasagna and potato or eggplant, the white mushroom sauce, and lasagna, and between every cape I add grated cheese. I’m such a fan because of the many flavors we can add to all of the capes, like chicken, vegetables and cream.  I tried to steam cook every vegetable, and the meat I tried to not overcook it on the plank, so that it doesn’t impact my body with calories or fats. 

Me and my bike. 

I started to ride my bike everyday around 2019, and now I go everywhere on my bicycle. By the time the pandemic of Covid 19, the fear of sharing a common space with other people, to get to my girlfriend’s house I started to go on my bike, that’s around eight to ten minutes at a regular speed. Now, I try every day to do a little race, either to get to my house from my girlfriend's place, or a route that takes me around an hour or more. Getting on my bike helped me a lot to quit smoking, a bad habit that I got when I was fifteen years old, that stayed with me until last year. I think of this as an achievement, because I tried many times to quit something that calmed down my anxiety, but doing so gave bad health and a very bad shape of my body. Taking care of my health and my body it’s a issue that never matters that much to me, so this is an aspect I rescue from a very bad year such as 2020.

I Sat by the Ocean

I was a 18 years old youth student, nearly graduated from High School, and In my naive little mind, I choose Art's theory and history, in the University of Chile. I fell in love with aesthetic and art´s history, the very foundation of the curricular bases of my career. It wasn't easy for me to adapt the times of study, and at the end of my first year I failed on two of the most important grades, and the next year I failed again in one of those, so, I get belated on my grades and my career. 

I evaluated the chances, and thought to leave my career, but with the support of my parents and my head teacher I catch up and now I'm in my last year, ready to defend my thesis the next year, so i'm very excited because my thesis includes photografy and aesthetic, my favorite topics and themes of my career.

But as a child my dream job was being a footballer, but the talent and the absence of a school of football nearby, and also other plans for me by my father, made that dream impossible. As and young adolescent, my dream change and I thought I could became a great lawyer, bassically because I was very good defending my point of view on an argument, and in such a young age I used to devour books in a little time. But then I realize that i had other talents, such as drawing and the study of historicall facts, bassically in my youth, I used to draw, watch all day long History Channel and play football. All of this convince me that I could study to be a History teacher, but my score in the PSU didn't get me there, so I was debating between Art´s History or Graphic Desing. I choose this career as a challenge against myself, and it didn't dessapoint me.
